Dimensions: 54 X 63 cm

Handcolored Copperplate Engraving

"Neu inventierter genealogischer Stamm Baum aller Könige in Dänemarck von Anfang dieses Reichs bis auf heut zu Tag glücklichst regierende Königliche Majestät Fridericum IV."

(Newly invented genealogical tree of all the Kings of Denmark from the beginning of the Reich until today's happily reigning monarch Frederich IV)

Matthäus Seutter was born in 1685, the son of a goldsmith in Augsburg. He learned the publishing business working in the house of Jeremias Wolff and established his own print shop in 1710. The Seutter publishing house specialized in producing large format maps, globes and atlases based on existing works by cartographers from other firms.

Seutter's maps and engravings are known as some of the most decorative produced during the 18th Century, and are sought after for their bold graphic quality and strong use of color.
