From the work: "Oeuvres contenant un recueil de trophées, attributs, cartouches, vases, fleurs...' published in Paris in 1778.

 

 

The designs for this work were made by the French artist Pierre Ranson ((French, 1736-1786), a designer at the Aubusson tapestry factory who created floral and neo-classical pattern books for ornament.

 

 

Engraved by Woysard. Signed in the plate, bottom left 'Ranson inv Woysard Sculp.', printed page number, top left.

 

Dimensions: 22 X 28.5 cm (dimensions of platemark (as shown in first image). There is an additional wide margin - see last photo.

Condition: Some discoloration in the margins (see last photo) and a stain in the lower left corner.
