Kunstkamer auf
der WasserKirchen in Zurich

This marvelous antique print by Johannes Meyer shows the old Kunstkammer in the Wasserkirche in Zuerich. This was Zurich's first public museum and library, and one of the first public museums in Switzerland. In the image, gentlemen of the time can be seen admiring paintings, looking at books, studying globes, and admiring all types of wonders of the day.

The date 1688 appears in the text and may be the date of publication.

Condition: Mounted a second sheet of antique paper. Cut to edges of image. Some image loss along the very outer margins of image.
