Coenraad Jacob Temminck (March 31, 1778 - January 30, 1858) was a Dutch aristocrat and zoologist. The work Nouveau Recueil de Planches coloriées d'Oiseaux (1820-1839) was published during Temmnick's tenure as the first director of the National Natural History Museum in Leiden. It was illustrated with beautiful copperplate engravings by Jean Gabriel Prêtre and Nicholas Huet.
