Grey and sanguine graphite highlighted with white chalk pencil.

 

Fascinating Dickensian face - perhaps a lawyer, businessman or accountant.

 

A classic 19th Century portrait. The artist has used a light pink tone in the sitters cheeks and on the medal or insignia on his jacket.
