The Accordion Player

Eugen Henziross was born in Niederbuchsiten near Solothurn and died in Bern. He was a painter, art instructor, and designer of posters.

Two couples enjoy a spring day. An young accordion player and his girl sit on a wall, while a slightly older couple hold a baby while their daughter picks flowers. The painting captures the different stages of romance - young love, and the beginning of married family life.
