An elegant woman steps out of the picture lower left. In the background are various figures, who may be at a ball, leaving a theatre, or perhaps under the lights of a tuilleries cafe on a Paris evening - Elegance and decadence in the type of milieu often portrayed by Toulouse-Lautrec.
