Yargo de Lucca

 

The German / Canadian artist Yargo de Lucca was born in 1925 in Kassel, Germany.

 

He studied in Frankfurt, Munich and in the Stuttgart Academy of Art where he was a student of Willi Baumeister.

In 1951, de Luca took up residence in Canada and became a Canadian citizen. Later he would divide his time between his two studios in Alternhein am Bodensee in Switzerland and Deux Montagnes in Canada. Later he also lived and worked in Alicante, Spain.

De Lucca's work can be found in major museums and collections including the National Gallery in Ottawa, the Tate Gallery in London, and the Musee National d'art moderne in Paris.
