An original 1898 Study for an illustration for the Munich magazine "Die Jugend." (Youth)

 

Adolf Münzer studied with at the Akademie der Bildenden Kuenste in Munich (Muenchen) and became known for his work as a member of the Munich plein-air artist's group "Scholle" and for his art nouveau illustrations for publications like Jugend and Simplissimus. He also achieved fame for his illustrations for fairy tales for the Verlag Scholz in Mainz.

 

Monnogrammed AM and dated [18]98 lower right.
