Roland Guignard

 

(1917 - 2004)

 

Roland Guignard was born in Aarau, Switzerland in 1917 and grew up in an artistic family which included several musicians.

 

Originally painting in a representational style, Guignard's work grew more abstract during the 1960s. Visits by the artist to Japan also had an influence on his later work.

 

This striking work is entitled Atelierecke wachst - "My Studio Corner is Growing."
