This masterful little watercolor shows a summer excursion to an alpine summit, most likely to the summit of the Rigi. This is a rare work by the important Swiss watercolorist Leonard Bantli. This extraordinary piece has a masterful depth of field and an exquisite range of soft colors. Museum quality.

Leonard Bantli (1810 - 1880, Meilen, near Zurich Switzerland). Bantli is listed in the Benezit, the leading french dictionary of art and artists, and in the Art Lexicon of Switzerland, among other works.
