Werner Hofmann

 

(1935- 2005)

Born in 1935 in Zug, Hofman lived and worked most of his life in Lucerne (Luzern), Switzerland.

 

These beautiful woodblock prints show scenes from his native region.

 

Hofmann was a member of the Swiss wood engraver's association, Xylon, and has worked a in that medium since the early 1960s.

 

Hofmann created wood cut illustrations for special editions of some of the great works of world literature including works by James Joyce and William Faulkner.
