Solidarity workshop 31 October 2009

On Saturday October 31 2009, Fondation Ida organized a solidarity workshop for children in good health at Atelier Arteplace in Rolle. Use of the Atelier was generously lent by the owner to the Fondation for this workshop.

Ten voluntary workers worked with two groups with 20 children in each group. They created « pèles-mêles » ,
wooden boards with ribbons in different colours, used to display photographs or postcards.
Despite the noise from the hammers, it was an exceptional event, and the children were full of enthusiasm and pride in their creations. One generous mother had prepared cakes for a little afternoon break.

Through this workshop - « a gesture by a child for other children » - children in good health became aware of Fondation Ida and our activities for children with cancer.  Workshops such as this also increases awareness in the community of Fondation and its activities and helps us to raise funds for our creative workshops for sick children in the hospital.
